Upcoming faculty development event to share insight on building successful careers

Recognition Matters: Insights from MSU Award Recipients is a faculty development event designed to help faculty better understand how successful careers are built, documented, supported, and ultimately recognized.

The program will provide participants with practical insights from a panel of award-winning faculty who have successfully navigated the path to university-level recognition. Through panelists' insights, Q&A with the audience, and an informal networking reception, the forum is intended to:

  • Increase faculty awareness of pathways to university-level recognition and achievement.
  • Help faculty identify strategies for building and documenting a record of impact over time.
  • Demystify the nomination and selection process for university-level awards.
  • Promote a campus culture that values and celebrates excellence in teaching, research, service, outreach, and extension.

You are invited by the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, the Director of Faculty Recognition, and the Faculty Success Team to join us and our selected panelists on Friday, Nov. 13, 2026, 3-4:30 p.m., in Bost Theater on the MSU campus.  Registration is not required but is appreciated for reception planning purposes: Recognition Matters participation tally – Fill out form
