When senior biological engineering major Blake Jeter decided to get involved in student government, he wanted the opportunity to make a difference and leave things a little better than he found them with the MSU student body.
Looking back on two years of service with the Student Association, his first year as attorney general, the outgoing SA president feels he has achieved his goal.
Jeter said that he is most proud of the increased commitment to service the SA displayed during his tenure, including tripling the amount raised by the student body for the United Way and raising more than $10,000 for the earthquake-ravaged country of Haiti.
Serving as the student organization's chief executive, he added, has had a profound effect on him, personally.
"Serving as president of the Student Association has cultivated in me an even deeper love for this university, and I will be forever linked to it and this state because of my service," Jeter said. "Being a part of this experience has taught me a lot of lessons about life, relationships, commitment, service, and learning that I will never forget. It has helped shape me into a better person."
