Newest Luckyday Scholars
Mississippi State’s newest cohort of freshman Luckyday Scholars were honored Friday [Nov. 8] during a pinning ceremony at The Mill at MSU. Welcoming the fifth group of first-year scholars to the university and the Luckyday Program were MSU President Mark E. Keenum, seated front center, and the Luckyday Foundation Board of Managers, seated from left, Granville Tate; Kristin R. Merrell, secretary; Jamie Houston, chair; Patricia G. Smith, executive director; Jerry Host, vice chair; and Mary Preston Dubberly. Established by the late Frank Rogers Day of Jackson, the Luckyday Foundation provides scholarship funding to exemplary students with the goal of becoming college graduates who possess invaluable leadership skills, a strong work ethic and a commitment to community stewardship.
