Digging In for Arbor Day

A celebration of Arbor Day kicked off the weekend at MSU, with children at the university’s Child Development and Family Studies Center planting a redbud tree with College of Forest Resources Dean Wes Burger and CDFSC staff. The climate of the Southern U.S. states gives Arbor Day, traditionally recognized in April, a boost into February with trees planted earlier to ensure survival. MSU holds the celebration each year as a Tree Campus USA, an Arbor Day Foundation distinction.
