Jerry Ross, a retired NASA astronaut and veteran of seven space flights, spoke at a recent awards ceremony honoring MSU's current Astronaut Scholars--Emma Wade, a senior computer science major, and Britain Steele, a junior aerospace engineering major. Ross recounted memories from his decorated career that included 4,100 flying hours, the majority in military aircraft, and more than 1,393 hours in space, including 58 hours and 18 minutes of extravehicular activity, or EVA, on nine spacewalks.
