Conservation Outreach

Evan O'Donnell, an Extension agent with the Forest and Wildlife Resource Center at Mississippi State University, teaches seventh-grade students from Armstrong Middle School in Starkville as part of the Youth Environmental Science Program. Called YES, the cooperative program between the MSU Extension Service, the Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District and the Sam D. Hamilton Noxubee Wildlife Refuge offers conservation education programming to students grades 3-8. By May 2016, plans are for YES programming to have reached 3,000 students in Oktibbeha County.
