SHERRILL TO THE HALL OF FAME
Jackie Sherrill, left, the winningest coach in Mississippi State football history, has been named a 2016 inductee into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. Congratulated here by MSHOF Executive Director Rick Cleveland, Sherrill is best known for reviving the Bulldogs football program and taking the team to six bowl games, four Top 20 rankings in AP polls, and winning the SEC West title in 1998. He remains the only Mississippi coach to take a team to the SEC Championship Game. He will be inducted into the MSHOF in July 2016.
