Salsa in the Streets
Mississippi State's Richard E. Holmes Cultural Diversity Center hosted its annual Salsa in the Streets event Thursday evening [Sept. 24] in the Lee Hall Plaza. The university's largest salsa dancing event of the year gave novice and experienced participants, including senior mechanical engineering major Chance J. Crook of Carriere and junior English and communication/theatre double-major Caitlin N. Pate of Starkville, the opportunity to hone their dancing skills, as well as enjoy authentic Latino food. In addition to MSU's Ballroom Dance Club, in which Crook and Pate also participate, members of the campus community may learn and practice dance moves as part of the new HCDC-sponsored Latin Dance Club.
