A percussion performance by visiting artist Tim Barnes, above, along with University of Alabama percussion instructor Tim Feeney, and senior sculpture major Ty Barnes of Jackson, created an acoustic experience for students in the Howell Hall Metal Shop last week. The percussionists made use of a diverse array of implements to create and modify sounds on and around their drums, including springs, bouncing balls, boards, cloth and hardware. Their performance was in conjunction with the "Audio/Optics" exhibition on display through March 6.
