Brief power outage anticipated for early Tuesday [July 27] morning
Associate Director for Utilities Dave Maharrey with MSU Facilities Management said Starkville Utilities has notified the university that there will be a 15- to 30-minute power outage on Tuesday [July 27].
Planned to occur during the timeframe of 5 a.m. to 7 a.m., this power outage is necessary for Starkville Utilities to relocate the feed to MSU from the current North Substation to the new South Substation. Normal utility power will be restored from the Starkville Utilities system before 7 a.m.
This outage will not affect the areas served by 4-County Power Association or Starkville Utilities connections, such as the Thad Cochran Research, Technology and Economic Development Park; R.R. Foil Plant Science Research Center (North Farm); Softball and Tennis facilities; and H.H. Leveck Animal Research Center (South Farm).
