STARKVILLE, Miss.—The 2016 Continuing Legal Education Seminar for Bulldog Lawyers will be held Oct. 7 at Mississippi State.

An annual event of the university’s political science and public administration department and its student Pre-Law Society, the 8 a.m.-4 p.m. event will be held in the John Grisham Room of Mitchell Memorial Library.

The Friday program takes place the day prior to MSU’s home football game with Southeastern Conference rival Auburn University.

The seminar registration fee is $225. A registration card and more information is available at www.pspa.msstate.edu/pdf/continuing_legal_education_2015.pdf.

Whit Waide, an attorney and MSU political science clinical assistant professor, said the popular event now in its sixth year serves multiple purposes.

“It is a way to bring our MSU alumni back to campus and it helps to support the efforts of the Pre-Law Society as they prepare for their future careers as attorneys,” Waide said. “Every year it is so nice to see the continuing support it has gotten from our lawyer alumni. The support of Bulldog Lawyers was vital in establishing Mississippi State’s first minor in pre-law in 2014.”

This year’s seminar speakers include:

—Cody Bailey of the Brunini Law Firm in Jackson;

—David Donnell of the Gilchrist Donnell Firm, also in Jackson;

—Robbie Hayes, City of Southaven prosecutor and owner of the Hayes Law Firm PLLC;

—Arthur Johnson, clerk of the United States District Court, Southern District of Mississippi;

—Brandon Jolly, MSU associate general counsel;

—Joan Lucas, MSU general counsel; and

—David Wigley of Southerland Asbill & Brennan LLP in Atlanta, Georgia.

Bailey, Donnell, Hayes, Jolly and Wigley are MSU alumni.
