STARKVILLE, Miss.—Seven staff members and two organizations at Mississippi State recently received major recognition from the Division of Student Affairs for their contributions during the 2015-16 academic year.
At a recent end-of-the-school-year banquet, Vice President for Student Affairs Regina Hyatt presented awards to employees from five campus centers and departments. One center and department each received special recognitions as well.
The 2016 Division of Student Affairs Staff Award honorees include (alphabetically):
—Tonya Curry of the Department of Housing and Residence Life, Support Staff-Clerical.
—Victoria Lee of the Maroon Volunteer Center, second-year Graduate Student of the Year.
—Yvett Roby of the Student Counseling Center, Bill Broyles Assistant Vice President Emeritus Professional of the Year.
—Blake Schneider of the Collegiate Recovery Center, New Professional of the Year.
—Kelsey Skinner of the Department of Housing and Residence Life, first-year Graduate Student of the Year.
—Laura Walling of the Department of Recreational Sports, Director of the Year.
—Mary Wilson of the Department of Housing and Residence Life, Support Staff-Custodial/Maintenance.
The Holmes Cultural Diversity Center’s “50 Years of Inclusion” also was recognized with the Outstanding Program of the Year Award. Additionally, the Department of Housing and Residence Life was named Team/Committee of the Year in recognition of its leadership, development and programming efforts.
