Terry Baker, CEO of the Society of American Foresters, will be the Why Not Me Speaker in celebration of Black History Month. As CEO, Baker oversees all of SAF’s programs and works with his Board of Directors to establish a strategic vision committed to the scientific sustainable management of America’s forests.

Prior to his selection as SAF CEO in 2018, Baker held a nearly 20-year career with the U.S. Forest Service. He has been a wildland fire fighter, forester and administrator of over 1 million acres.

Baker earned a master’s degree in forest management and policy from Yale University, a bachelor’s degree in forest resources and conservation at the University of Florida, and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences from Florida A&M University.
