Assistant Professor of Cello Amy Catron presents “A Fine Romance” this Saturday [Sept. 22] at 4 p.m. in the lecture-recital hall of the Music Building, located at 124 Hardy Road. The chamber music recital features two clarinet trios, Op. 114 by famous German composer Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) and Op. 40 by Austrian composer Carl Frühling (1868-1937). Though both trios are in A minor, each strikes harmony, balance and color in distinct ways. Catron will be joined by two guest faculty artists from Troy University: Timothy Phillips, clarinet, and Benjamin Crook, piano.
