Derby Days is a Saturday morning event where the sororities at Mississippi State compete in a "Lip Sync" competition. The theme for the competition is "Bands." Each chapter performs a dance combined with a story that represents their band they selected. They are scored on a rubric based off how well they perform and present the band. There is also the Derby Darling competition which is a pageant-like competition in which each sorority has one member represent their chapter. The scores from those two competitions are added up with scores from a basketball tournament and banner competition from the previous week to decide who wins Derby Days.
