Carolina Chocolate Drops perform Thursday
Grammy winning banjo and fiddle folk artists will perform Thursday as part of Mississippi State University's Lyceum Series. General admission tickets for the Carolina Chocolate Drops' 7:30 p.m. performance are available at the Campus Activities Office in Suite 300 of the Colvard Student Union or by calling 662-325-2930. Tickets also may be purchased online at www.lyceum.msstate.edu.

Flu shot clinic on tap this week
University Health Services has scheduled a series of flu shot clinics this fall, and the next one will be held Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 350 of the MSU Student Health Center. In order to keep our campus healthy, everyone is urged to get a flu shot.

MSU Cheese Store: extended hours, holiday orders
The staff at the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station Sales Store, located on Mississippi State University's campus, is encouraging patrons to place orders now for the holidays and to take advantage of products that make great additions to the tailgate. The store's famous cheese and other products sell quickly during the holiday season.

Athletic Department launches official iPad app
The Mississippi State Athletic Department, in partnership with Bulldog Sports Properties and digital media partner NeuLion, Inc. (TSX:NLN), announced the launch of its official iPad application last Wednesday. MSU is one of the first schools in the Southeastern Conference to have developed an iPad app.

Football hosts Alabama on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. ... Men's Basketball opens play in the 2K Classic on Monday by hosting Eastern Kentucky at 7 p.m. and then hosts Akron at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The Basketball Bulldogs also host South Alabama on Saturday at 1 p.m.... Men's Tennis plays the USTA Future Pensacola this week... Women's Tennis opens play in the Lakewood Ranch Intercollegiate Clay Courts in Sarasota, Fla., on Friday... Volleyball is on the road to Athens for a 6 p.m. Friday match against Georgia and takes on Auburn at 1 p.m. Sunday, which will be broadcast by SportSouth... Mississippi State is honoring past and present members of the armed forces during Veterans Awareness Week, which culminates Saturday during halftime of the home football game with the University of Alabama.
Tuesday vote: Employee political activity reminder
As Mississippians cast their ballots in Tuesday's statewide general election, Mississippi State's Office of General Counsel reminds employees to be aware of the university's policy on political activities. There are several basic guidelines that university employees should keep in mind when engaging in any form of political activity.
