BCoE honors Dampier, Donohoe and Walters

BCoE toasts successful year at annual picnic
School's out and the Bagley College of Engineering's faculty and staff recently celebrated the end another successful academic year. On a sunny May afternoon afternoon, the college's faculty and staff turned out on the university's historic Drill Field to enjoy barbecue, fried catfish and all of the trimmings.

Gregory, Crowder join basketball radio crews
Mississippi State finalized its radio broadcast crews for both the men's and women's basketball teams last Thursday with the announcement that Bart Gregory will join Jim Ellis in the Bulldogs booth, while Jason Crowder will take over the play-by-play duties for the Lady Bulldogs.

Baseball is on the road for a Tuesday evening ballgame with Memphis at AutoZone Park, and then hosts LSU Thursday at 6 p.m. in game one of the final SEC home series of the season. Game 2 is set for Friday at 6:30 p.m., and the series concludes Saturday at 2 p.m.
Newman named Human Sciences director
A Mississippi State professor with more than 20 years of experience is the new director of the school of human sciences. Since 2004, Michael Newman has served as a professor in agricultural information science and education as well as a specialist for the MSU Extension Service.
Horstemeyer again honored for career work
An MSU professor who leads the university's computational solid mechanics research program now holds the highest honor in another international professional society. Mark F. Horstemeyer recently was bestowed the rank of Fellow by ASM International.
Don Buffum elected NIGP national officer
Mississippi State's director of procurement and contracts has been elected third vice president of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing. In that position, Don Buffum is now in line to serve a term as national president of the organization starting in July 2014.
