Baseball hosts Alcorn State at 5 p.m. Tuesday and Iowa at 4 p.m. Friday. Georgia State visits Dudy Noble Field for a noon game Saturday and 2:30 p.m. game on Sunday... Softball plays UAB in Birmingham Tuesday at 6 p.m., and opens play in this weekend's Bulldog Classic with Memphis at 3 p.m. Friday... Men's Basketball travels to Fayetteville on Wednesday for an 8 p.m. tipoff with Arkansas. On Saturday, they host South Carolina at 1 p.m.... Women's Basketball is on the road for the SEC Tournament in Nashville, which begins Thursday... Track & Field is on the road for the Last Chance Meet beginning Friday... Men's Tennis hosts Vanderbilt Friday at 2 p.m., and Kentucky on Sunday at 1 p.m.... Women's Tennis is on the road to Nashville on Friday for a 2:30 p.m. match with Vanderbilt, and will be in Lexington on Sunday for a 10 a.m. match against the Lady Wildcats.

Birthday celebration moved to Tuesday
Faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of Mississippi State are invited to participate in the commemoration of the university's founding 133 year ago and to celebrate its accomplishments during a celebration Tuesday. Monday's weather forecast forced the postponement of the special event to Tuesday.

When Paula Threadgill became leader of Family and Consumer Sciences for the Mississippi State University Extension Service, she decided to tackle the state's obesity problem. She was named state leader of the Extension Service arm of Family and Consumer Sciences, or FCS, on Jan. 1.
