STARKVILLE, Miss.--The theater program of Mississippi State University's communication department continues its 50th anniversary celebration this week with a children's production.
A Theatre MSU performance being given throughout the week for hundreds of elementary children, "Wiley and the Hairy Man" also will be offered to the general public at a special 2 p.m. Sunday [Nov. 17] show in the McComas Hall auditorium.
Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for children. Online orders may be made at https://www.comm.msstate.edu/theatre/tickets/.
Incorporating rhythm and rhyme, "Wiley" is set in the mysterious Tombigbee Swamp and centers around a young, fatherless boy, his conjure-woman mother, his faithful dog, and the Hairy Man who haunts Wiley's days and dreams.
Written by Susan Zedler, the play is appropriate for all ages, said director Cody Stockstill, a visiting assistant professor in the department.
