SA, Athletics give away tuition, prizes Saturday
April 5, 2011
The MSU Student Association and the Athletic Department announce a partnership to increase student involvement for the upcoming Maroon and White spring football scrimmage this Saturday [April 9].
For the first time, the SA and Athletics will give away prizes to students at designated times throughout the football scrimmage. From 3 p.m. to the 5 p.m. kickoff, students should swipe their student ID cards when entering the stadium to automatically be entered into a pool for prizes. Swiping locations will be setup inside gates 2, 10, 12 and 20 at all four corners.
Random drawings will be held during the first and second quarters, and at halftime. The giveaway prizes include an autographed football, $100 gift card from Barnes and Noble at MSU, 16 GB IPad 2, 32GB IPod Touch, one semester of books from Barnes and Noble, and free in-state tuition for one semester.
Winning students must be present and should report to the bronze bulldog statue on the 50-yard line when their names are called.
SA President Rhett Hobart said, "We are thrilled to be working with the Athletic Department on this event and are excited about continuing the partnership we have to provide students with the best athletic experiences possible."
All students are encouraged to support the football program by attending and participating in the promotional giveaway.
The SA is located in the Colvard Student Union and serves as the governing body and liaison between students and university officials. The Athletic Department is located in the Bryan Building.
