MSU officials continue to monitor winter weather conditions and are receiving regular updates from campus meteorologists and local emergency management personnel. Conditions have deteriorated south of Oktibbeha County, making travel there hazardous.

At this time, the Starkville campus remains open for the remainder of Thursday and Friday. The Meridian campus closed at noon Thursday, and faculty, staff and students should take extreme caution if planning to travel there or other Central Mississippi destinations.

Officials will continue to assess conditions and determine the operating status of the Starkville campus by 5 a.m. Friday. Updates will be posted to the MSU web site. Continue to monitor local news outlets for the latest weather information, and use personal judgment to ensure safety before traveling.
