Mississippi State University is associated with a number of separately incorporated units that assist the university in fulfilling its missions of learning, service, and research. Generally, these related entities are tax exempt under the Internal Revenue Code section 503c (3) and were established for charitable and/or educational purposes. Each of these entities is affiliated with a university department or division with the relationship between the entity and the university well defined.

- The mission of the Alumni Association is to generate support for Mississippi State University through the development and implementation of programs, activities, and events for its alumni and friends.
