OPERATING POLICY AND PROCEDURES

RESOLUTION OF UNLAWFUL DISCRIMINATION AND HARASSMENT COMPLAINTS

Purpose

To establish uniform guidelines and procedures for addressing all forms of unlawful discrimination and harassment applicable to all students, faculty, and staff.

 

Policy

Discrimination based upon race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or veteran’s status is a violation of federal and state law and MSU policy and will not be tolerated. Discrimination based upon sexual orientation or group affiliation is a violation of MSU policy and will not be tolerated. Therefore, to maintain a work and learning environment that is free from unlawful discrimination and harassment, the University will handle all infractions in an expeditious and equitable manner.

 

Procedure

Mississippi State University’s faculty, staff and students shall follow the Guidelines for Resolution of Discrimination and Harassment Complaints attached hereto.

 

Review

This policy shall be reviewed by the Director of the Office of Diversity and Equity Programs every four years or whenever circumstances require an earlier review.
